The second world war ended when America dropped the atom bomb on Japan and Japan surrendered.
Most of the ANZAC's died when they landed on the wrong beach in Gallipoli at ANZAC cove.
When white flags were raised that meant to tell the enemy to hold on and not to shoot for they were entering no mans land.
Soldiers would use a periscope instead of popping their head up because if they did they would get shot at.
Soldiers put there helmets on top of the trench and if the enemy shot at it that would mean the enemy was still out and it wasn't safe.
